Biography

Sunggyu Lee is the C.W. LaPierre Professor and Chairman of the Department of Chemical Engineering at the Univeristy of Missouri-Columbia. He is the author or coauthor of several books and over 400 archival publications. He received 20 U.S. patents in fields of chemical process technologies. A specialist in chemical reaction engineering and process analysis, and an active member of the American Institute of Chemical Engineers, Dr. Lee has designed more than 25 pilot, commercial, and demonstration plants, and advised companies such as B.F. Goodrich, Water Technologies Limited, and Northern Technology International. He received his B.S. (1974) and M.S. (1976) degrees in chemical engineering from Seoul National University, Korea, and his Ph.D. degree (1980) in chemical engineering from Case Western Reserve University, Cleveland, Ohio.
