Abstract
Recent posts to image newsgroups describe a new image hiding technique that is easy to implement and hard to spot. Criminals are utilizing common software to embed illegal graphics inside normal pictures. The files containing these embedded pictures could easily slip past an unsuspecting examiner. This article makes examiners aware of the hiding technique and the strengths and weaknesses of current forensic software and describes how to expose the hidden graphics.
