I have an idea for a new journal...
Why publish with us?
-
"For nearly two decades we have been the most innovative journal publisher," says Dr David Green, Global Journals Publishing Director. "Our ability to spot emerging trends in the major disciplines is second to none, and we are proud to support the hard work of our editors and authors. We continue to launch more new journals than any other publisher in response to academic developments."
-
We are committed to launching new journals. New titles help build emerging fields of study, enhance communication within existing research communities, and stimulate creative discourse at disciplinary interfaces. We believe that well-chosen, properly supported launches play a crucial role in the advancement of knowledge and global research.
-
We have launched 29 new journals for 2008, partnering with societies such as the National Communication Association, International Society for Digital Earth, Centre for Arab Unity Studies, European Urban Research Association, National Association for the Dually Diagnosed and the International Building Performance Simulation Association.
-
Our experience is that successful new journals have:
- Vigorous, well networked editor/s - especially those with good North American contacts.
- Research communities with critical mass - capable of sustaining a new title.
- Rapidly expanding or evolving subject areas - in which new journals can establish themselves.
-
Success is further enhanced by:
- Support of a scholarly society with mass membership.
- Affiliation with a relevant, well-attended annual conference.
- Endorsement by a prestigious international editorial board.
- Good fit and complementarity with our journal portfolio.
-
If you would like to discuss launching a journal in partnership with us, please complete a proposal, as outlined in our New Journal guidelines. The proposal will explain the focus of your journal, how it would assist its research community, who would be involved and how it would position itself in relation to existing publications. The more detail that you can provide at this stage, the better able we will be to help develop your journal into a live project.
-
Once you have written your proposal, contact one of our editors to discuss how to develop your journal project with us.
-
We look forward to working with you!
