Abstract
Operation 'Stabilise' illustrated successful coalition peace operations using well-coordinated strategic communications, an effective employment scheme and solid tactical cooperation. The key to its effectiveness were dynamic leadership, and command that was responsive to the national cultures of the forces involved. 'Stabilise' showed that regional partners can respond effectively to restore stability within neighbouring states and that superpower intervention need not be dominant or domineering. Finally, 'Stabilise' showed that Chapter VII operations can be accomplished under regional leadership and transitioned to United Nations authorities on time.
