Abstract
It appears that in COX-2 selective inhibitors may increase the risk of major adverse cardiovascular events. Various potential mechanisms are presented whereby COX-2 selective inhibitors may enhance the risk of cardiovascular events in certain patients. It is conceivable that different mechanisms may be involved in different circumstances and that multifactorial mechanisms may occasionally be operating in conjunction with one another.
