Abstract

Let 0445ILM0001.gif be a sequence of i.i.d. random variables taking values in the set of all Moumlbius transformations. Consider the sequence 0445ILM0002.gif defined by 0445ILM0003.gif where z belongs to the extended complex plane. Necessary and sufficient conditions for a.s. convergence of 0445ILM0002.gif will be discussed. As an application we will see how a sequence of the form 0445ILM0002.gif may be used to generalize a mathematical model of phyllotaxis. Some results concerning the convergence in distribution of 0445ILM0002.gif will also be discussed.
Keywords: Random Moumlbius transformations; Phyllotaxis; Cut-grow model
