Author: Rachel Harrison - Rachel Harrison is a lecturer in Thai literature and cinema at London University's School of Oriental and African Studies. She has published widely on modern Thai literature, with particular reference to issues of gender, sexuality and prostitution. Her current research focuses on Siam/Thailand's relations with the West, from 1850 to the present day, and most notably on the effects of Western influence on literary and cinematic developments in Thai culture.
