Abstract
This paper considers the first time of failure of a 2 units standby redundant system which has a repair waiting time. Five mutually exclusive and exhaustive cases arise, and solutions to these are given together with the mean time to failure. The particular case in which all distributions concerned are exponential is considered, and the steady state the resulting transition probalilities are given.
