RSS on informaworldTM Stay in touch with the latest research by signing up for RSS feeds from informaworld. What is RSS? If you want to keep on top of the latest research publications but find that your email inbox is cluttered with non-essential mail, or you don’t have time to visit your favourite websites each day, RSS is a great alternative. RSS allows you to receive articles from your favourite sites as soon as the information is published. All you need to do is subscribe to the services you like. The most commonly used meaning of RSS is Really Simple Syndication. In other words, it is an easy way to distribute information.
What information can I get using RSS?
informaworldTM offers two types of RSS feed: Subject RSS: Subject RSS feeds send you notification of each new title published in a subject area. Publication RSS: Publication RSS feeds send you notification of each new article in a journal or a reference work. Many news sites, including the BBC and leading newspapers, offer RSS feeds for their news bulletins. How do I get started with RSS? First, you need an RSS reader. These are also known as news readers, feed readers, or aggregators. There are many that are freely available. Visit www.newsonfeeds.com/faq/aggregators for a listing of available readers. When you've chosen a reader you feel suits your needs, open your reader. Depending on the reader you are using, select the option to create a new feed. Sometimes this is called a new subscription.
