Do I need a subscription to use informaworldTM?
You can search and browse the journals, books and reference works on informaworldTM for free. You will need to subscribe to the individual journal, book or reference work in order to read the full articles. Subscriptions are required to search or browse the Abstract Database products. You can also purchase individual articles to view online.
What should I do if I forget my password?
Select the Sign In link. Next to the boxes where you would normally enter your user name and password there is a forgotten password link. Enter your user name and/or email address and a new password will be provided.
How do I purchase articles?
Once you have found an article you want to read, add it to your shopping cart. When you are ready, check out using a credit or debit card, and the article will be available to download immediately. You will have access to download from the site for 3 days. In addition to the article or chapter you will have access to any supplementary data. If it is not online, it may be available Offline
Why should I register?
Once you have registered you can create marked lists (collections of resources you are interested in) to view on a return visit. You can also request email alerts for new issues of your favourite journals or new books in your research area. Select the Register link at any time and you will be guided through the simple steps to register for these services.
How do I view a book chapter, or journal or encyclopedia article?
If you subscribe to, or have purchased, a chapter or article, icons will indicate that you can view the item as a PDF. For many, the item will also be available as HTML. To read the PDF you will need Adobe Reader installed.
How do I subscribe?
If you are interested in a specific title, browse to the publication and select the subscribe tab. If you have more general subscription questions visit the dedicated librarians pages for more information on subscription policies and pricing. Journal subscriptions can be purchased online using a credit card. For information on subscribing to eBook collections and reference works please submit your query via our web form.
How do I find a publication or an article?
You could try a quick search: enter your key search terms into the search box at the top of the page and hit GO. You will get publications, authors, subjects and articles matching your search terms. If you are looking for an article or chapter and you know the author but not the title, select the Advanced Search link where complex searches can be created. For more tips see Search tips.
Can I save my search?
Yes. You can save an advanced search. On the search results page select the link to save your search. You also have the option of receiving an email each time new matches are found for our search. For both of these services you will need to register.
How do I request table of contents alerts for a journal?
Search or browse for the journal. On the journal homepage there will be a link to Alert. You will be prompted to select the type of alert you require. If you wish to change your alerts, select the My Account link and modify the options in the Alerts tab.
How do I change my email address?
Sign in and select My Account. Your details are available to update at any time, along with your alerts, marked lists and saved searches. You can also view your purchase history and any items currently in your shopping cart in the My Account area.
