Instructions for Authors
Aims and Scope
The purposes of Child Neuropsychology are to (a) publish research on the neuropsychological effects of disorders which effect brain functioning in children and adolescents, (b) publish research on the neuropsychological dimension of development in childhood and adolescence and (c) promote the integration of theory, method and research findings in child/developmental neuropsychology. The primary emphasis of Child Neuropsychology is to publish original empirical research. Theoretical and methodological papers and theoretically relevant case studies are welcome. Critical reviews of topics pertinent to child/developmental neuropsychology are encouraged. Each manuscript must be accompanied by a statement that it has not been published elsewhere and that it has not been submitted simultaneously for publication elsewhere. Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce copyrighted material from other sources and are required to sign an agreement for the transfer of copyright to the publisher. All accepted manuscripts, artwork, and photographs become the property of the publisher. All parts of the manuscript should be typewritten, double-spaced, with margins of at least one inch on all sides. Manuscript pages must be numbered consecutively throughout the paper. The text should be divided into the following sections: Introduction, Methods, Results, Discussion, Acknowledgements and References. Authors should also supply a shortened version of the title suitable for the running head, not exceeding 50 character spaces. Each article should be summarized in an abstract of not more than 100 words. Avoid abbreviations, diagrams, and reference to the text in the abstract.
Brief Reports Work with a very narrow focus or that otherwise does not warrant a full article can be considered for a Brief Report. Such submissions should be limited to no more than 2,000 words, with no more than two tables or figures. In a Brief Report, there should be no subsections in the Method, and the Results and Discussion should be combined.
Copyright: It is a condition of publication that authors assign copyright or license the publication rights in their articles, including abstracts, to Taylor & Francis. This enables us to ensure full copyright protection and to disseminate the article, and of course the Journal, to the widest possible readership in print and electronic formats as appropriate. Authors retain many rights under the Taylor & Francis rights policies, which can be found at www.informaworld.com/authors_journals_copyright_position. Authors are themselves responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce copyright material from other sources. References Reference citations within the text. Use authors' last names, with the year of publication, e.g., “(Brown, 1982; Jones & Smith, 1987; White, Johnson, & Thomas, 1990)”. On first citation of references with three to five authors, give all names in full, thereafter use [first author] “et al.”. In the references, the first six authors should be listed in full.
If more than one article by the same author(s) in the same year is cited, the letters a, b, c, etc., should follow the year. If a paper is in preparation, submitted, or under review, the reference should include the authors, the title, and the year of the draft (the paper should also be cited throughout the paper using the year of the draft). Manuscripts that are “in press” should also include the publisher or journal, and should substitute “in press” for the date.
Reference list. A full list of references quoted in the text should be given at the end of the paper in alphabetical order of authors' surnames (or chronologically for a group of references by the same authors), commencing as a new page, typed double spaced. Titles of journals and books should be given in full, e.g.:

Illustrations Illustrations submitted (line drawings, halftones, photos, photomicrographs, etc.) should be clean originals or digital files. Digital files are recommended for highest quality reproduction and should follow these guidelines:
- 300 dpi or higher
- Sized to fit on journal page
- EPS, TIFF, or PSD format only
- Submitted as separate files, not embedded in text files
Color illustrations will be considered for publication; however, the author will be required to bear the full cost involved in their printing and publication. The charge for the first page with color is $900.00. The next three pages with color are $450.00 each. A custom quote will be provided for color art totaling more than 4 journal pages. Good-quality color prints should be provided in their final size. The publisher has the right to refuse publication of color prints deemed unacceptable.
Tables and Figures
Tables and figures (illustrations) should not be embedded in the text, but should be included as separate sheets or files. A short descriptive title should appear above each table with a clear legend and any footnotes suitably identified below. All units must be included. Figures should be completely labeled, taking into account necessary size reduction. Captions should be typed, double-spaced, on a separate sheet. All original figures should be clearly marked in pencil on the reverse side with the number, author' name, and top edge indicated.
Proofs Page proofs are sent to the designated author using Taylor & Francis'EProof system. They must be carefully checked and returned within 48 hours of receipt. Offprints or copies of the journal may be ordered at this stage through the publisher.
Offprints/Reprints Once your article is available online you will be granted access to the article. If you do not have a username, one is created for you, and an email will be sent to you containing your login details. On informaworldTM, you can access both HTML and PDF versions of your article. You may download a PDF version, which will contain a watermark noting this is an author copy. You are free to circulate this PDF to up to 50 colleagues by email, or make 50 printed copies and circulate by mail. This acceptable use policy does NOT permit distribution to more than 50 individuals of the PDF by authors or editors without express permission from the publisher. Prohibited uses include the distribution of the PDF via professional or personal listservs or posting to personal, organizational, or institutional websites in a format that would allow downloading or printing.
