Articles submitted to Medicine, Conflict and Survival should be original contributions and should not be under consideration for any other publication at the same time. If another version of the article is under consideration by another publication, or has been, or will be published elsewhere, authors should clearly indicate this at the time of submission. It is the responsibility of the authors to obtain written permission to reproduce material which has appeared in any language in another publication.
Contributions to be considered must be in English and should be submitted in Microsoft Word format by email. Any submission should be accompanied by a covering email/letter confirming that all authors have agreed to submit the article. Submissions should be sent to the Editors at the following addresses:

sbr@aber.ac.uk There is no standard length for articles but they should generally not exceed 8,000 words and should begin with an indented summary of 100-150 words. The journal also publishes short communications, conference reports, responses to articles, letters, book reviews and relevant documents.
All submissions should conform to the journal style outlined below. The editor reserves the right to modify the text without altering factual or other substantive content. All articles will be peer reviewed and the editor may wish to correspond with the authors about substantive content.
All diagrams, charts and graphs should be referred to as figures and consecutively numbered. Tables should be kept to a minimum and contain only essential data. Each figure and table must be given an Arabic numeral, followed by a heading, and be referred to in the text; the source should be given in a foot-line. Figures, graphs and tables must be of adequate quality for reproduction.
The name(s) of the author(s) of articles, short communications and conference reports followed by an institutional affiliation and/or address, should appear on the first page of the submission, centred beneath the title. Any acknowledgements should appear below the list of references. Contact details and information about the author (past affiliations, status, publications, etc.) for inclusion in a biographical sketch should be included on a separate sheet.
