Submission of Manuscripts
The Journal of Energetic Materials receives all manuscript submissions electronically via their Manuscript Central website located at: http://mc.manuscriptcentral.com/UEGM. Manuscript Central allows for rapid submission of original and revised manuscripts, as well as facilitating the review process and internal communication between authors, editors and reviewers via a web-based platform. For Manuscript Central technical support, you may contact them by e-mail or phone support via http://scholarone.com/services/support/.
Preparation of Manuscript
All parts of the manuscript should be doublespaced, with margins of at least one inch on all sides. Number manuscript pages consecutively throughout the paper. Authors should also supply a shortened version of the title suitable for the running head, not exceeding 50 character spaces. Each article should be summarized in an abstract of not more that 100 words. Avoid abbreviations, diagrams, and reference to the text. On the title page, include full names of authors, academic and/or other professional affiliations, and the complete address, telephone number, fax number, and e-mail address of the author to whom proofs and correspondence should be sent. Citations in the text are by number in brackets. Full citations should be arranged numerically, double-spaced, and must conform to The Chicago Manual of Style, 15th edition.

Tables and Figures
Tables and figures should be provided in separate digital files. Do not embed tables or figures within the text file. A short descriptive title should appear above each table with a clear legend and any footnotes suitably identified below. All units must be included. Figures should be completely labeled, taking into account necessary size reduction. Captions should be typed, double-spaced, on a separate sheet. Be sure that every figure has a brief descriptive legend and that every table has a concise title. The publisher has the right to refuse publication of color prints deemed unacceptable.
Illustrations
Illustrations (line drawings, halftones, photos, photomicrographs, etc.) should be submitted as separate files; do not embed within the text.
Color Reproduction
Color illustrations will be considered for publication; however, the author will be required to bear the full cost involved in color art reproduction. Color art can be purchased for online only reproduction or for printþonline reproduction. Color reprints can only be ordered if print + online reproduction costs are paid. Rates for color art reproduction are:
Online Only Reproduction: $225 for the first page of color; $100 per page for the next three pages of color. A maximum charge of $525 applies.
Print+Online Reproduction: $900 for the first page of color; $450 per page for the next three pages of color.
A custom quote will be provided for articles with more than four pages of color. Art not supplied at a minimum of 300 dpi will not be considered for print.
Copyright
Each submitted manuscript must be accompanied by a signed and dated Transfer of Copyright form stating that it has not been published elsewhere and that it has not been submitted simultaneously for publication elsewhere. After the form is signed and dated, it may be scanned and uploaded with the manuscript files. Manuscripts cannot be published without submission of this form. Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce copyrighted material from other sources. All accepted manuscripts, artwork, and photographs become the property of the publisher.
Page Proofs
When page proofs for an article become available for review, authors will receive e-mail correspondence from Taylor & Francis with instructions for accessing their article, making corrections, and returning final proof to the production department, all via the Internet. There will be a link in the e-mail providing authors access to a PDF version of their proofs and to a proofs response form. Authors may access only their specific paper. The Editor will have expanded access and will be able to review all articles for a given issue. Only correction of typographical errors is permitted. All proofs must be corrected and returned to the publisher within 48 hours of receipt. If the manuscript is not returned within the allotted time, the Editor will proofread the article and it will be printed per his instruction.
Reprints
Each corresponding author will receive one copy of the issue in which the article appears. Reprints of individual articles are available for order at the time authors review page proofs. A discount on reprints is available to authors who order before print publication.
