General. Articles must make a major point. They must be original, not previously published, and not under consideration for publication elsewhere. Authors are responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce copyrighted material from other sources and are required to sign an agreement for the transfer of copyright to the publisher. All accepted manuscripts, artwork, and photographs become the property of the publisher. Authors are urged to read over and correct their articles on paper, not just on screen, before submitting them. Please number manuscript pages consecutively throughout the paper.
Submission of Manuscripts. Manuscripts must include the author's full name and complete contact details (including email address), abstract, keywords, and a short biographical sketch. Manuscripts can be prepared in WORD, LaTeX, ASCII, or a similar program but the submission must include an identical pdf version of the file. Authors should submit two electronic versions of their manuscripts - one with author information and one without - to be used in a double-blind referee system. Submit manuscripts to Craig Bauer, Department of Physical Sciences, York College of Pennsylvania, York, PA, 17405, USA. If accepted, refereed and edited manuscripts will be sent to the author for final approval with a request for a final electronic version to be sent to the Editor.
References. All works cited must be included in a reference section at the end of the paper. Footnotes will be published at the bottom of the appropriate page. References should follow the latest edition of the Chicago Manual of Style, but are also to be numbered in alphabetical order. For example:
Journal: 1. Taylor, R. W. and Vanden, H. E. September 1982. Defining Terrorism in El Salvador, Annals of the American Academy of Political and Social Science, 463(4): 107-129.
Book: 2. Mills, C. W. 1956. The Power Elite, New York: Oxford University Press, p. 171. Citations should be inserted into the text as [3, p.23], for reference number 3, page 23.
Exceptions: Authors of technical manuscripts who wish to use AMS style are welcome to do so. All quotations in foreign language must be translated into English. British spelling will be retained.
Illustrations. Illustrations (line drawings, halftones, photos, photomicrographs, etc.) should be clean originals or digital files. Digital files are recommended for highest quality reproduction and should follow these guidelines:
-
300 dpi or higher
-
sized to fit on journal page
-
EPS, TIFF, or PSD format only
-
submitted as separate files, not embedded in text files.
Tables and Figures. Tables and figures should not be embedded in the text, but should be included as separate sheets or files. A short descriptive title should appear below each table with a clear legend and any footnotes suitably identified below. All units must be included. Figures should be completely labeled, taking into account necessary size reduction. Captions should be typed, double-spaced, on a separate sheet. All original figures should be clearly marked in pencil on the reverse side with the number, author's name, and top edge indicated.
Color Reproduction. Color art is not accepted.
Proofs. All proofs must be corrected and returned to the publisher. If the proofs are not returned within the allotted time, the editor will proofread the article and it will be printed per the editor's instructions. Only correction of typographical errors is permitted.
Offprints. The corresponding author of an article will receive three complete copies of the issue in which the article appears and one pdf file of the article itself. This file is for personal use only and may not be copied and disseminated in any form without prior written permission from Taylor and Francis Group, LLC. The corresponding author is responsible for distribution of copies to the co-authors. Reprints of an individual article are available at the time authors review page proofs. A discount is available to authors who order before print publication.
