Instructions for Authors
Aims and Scope The collapse of Communism in Eastern Europe and the Soviet Union and the enlargement of the European Union provide new opportunities for academics to engage in scholarly debate on the new developments in European politics and society. The editors of Perspectives on European Politics and Society welcome articles on all aspects of European Politics, widely defined to include, comparative politics, political sociology, international relations, and modern history. The geographical scope of the journal covers all of Europe including the Russian Federation. Submissions Articles submitted for publication should be submitted by email to the Editor: c.z.ross@dundee.ac.uk or alternatively by mail to: Dr. Cameron Ross, Department of Politics, University of Dundee, Dundee, DD1 4HN, United Kingdom. Where submitting hard copy, two copies should be submitted. Submissions should include an abstract of approximately 200 words and key words. Papers submitted for consideration by Perspectives on European Politics and Society must be unpublished and not considered for publication elsewhere. Manuscripts Articles should normally be between 6000 and 8000 words in length. Review Articles should be between 4000 and 5000 words and Book Reviews 800 to 1000 words. The journal is published in English, in which language contributions should normally be submitted. It is understood, however, that the pan-European focus of the journal may mean that certain articles will require special editing. Full translations will, however, only be undertaken in exceptional circumstances. All articles, including commissioned ones, will be refereed. Please send manuscripts by email. Where hard copy submission is preferred, please submit on disk with two hard copies. Where possible, please use Word or a file readable through Word. All manuscripts should be typed, double spaced throughout. Wide margins should be left on all sides. Pages should be numbered consecutively on the right-hand corner of the page. Details should be given of affiliations, full postal and email addresses, as well as telephone and fax numbers. References The journal uses Harvard referencing; any notes should be placed at the end of the article before the references. Citations in the text should be give the author's name, year of publication and pagination where appropriate; for example 'Christiansen et al.
