The Editors of photographies are now inviting the following kinds of submissions:

·         Research papers and innovative visual essays (6000-8000 words)

·         Shorter papers engaging new debates (circa 4000 words)

·         Reflective review essays evaluating publications, cultural events, key developments, exhibitions and conferences.

Papers and proposals should be sent in electronic form (email attachment or disc) to:

photographies@plymouth.ac.uk

Details should be given of the author's full postal and e-mail addresses and telephone number. Please include a word count. If your paper includes artwork we will need high resolution tiff or eps files (minimum resolution: 300 dpi) or high quality camera-ready hard copy material after your paper is accepted for publication. Submission of a paper to the journal will be taken to imply that it presents original, unpublished work not under consideration for publication elsewhere. On acceptance of a paper, the authors agree that the exclusive rights to reproduce and distribute the article have been given to Routledge/Taylor & Francis. Permission to quote from or reproduce copyrighted material must be obtained by and paid for by the authors before submission and any necessary acknowledgements submitted with the paper.

Please include a 100 to 200-word summary of the paper. A brief biographical note about each author should be supplied.

NOTES AND REFERENCES

Notes should appear at the end of the paper rather than at the bottom of each page.

Submissions must conform to MLA style, with in-text citations and a list of Works Cited. The list of Works Cited should begin on a new page, after the last page of Notes. Every written source you cite must be included in the list of Works Cited. The rules to follow are published in:

Joseph Gibaldi, MLA Style Manual and Guide to Scholarly Publishing, 2nd ed. (New York: Modern Language Association of America, 1998), pages 149-254.

Copyright: It is a condition of publication that authors assign copyright or license the publication rights in their articles, including abstracts, to Taylor & Francis. This enables us to ensure full copyright protection and to disseminate the article, and of course the Journal, to the widest possible readership in print and electronic formats as appropriate. Authors retain many rights under the Taylor & Francis rights policies, which can be found at www.informaworld.com/authors_journals_copyright_position. Authors are themselves responsible for obtaining permission to reproduce copyright material from other sources.
