Biographies

David Sawicki, FAICP, editor, holds a Ph.D. in city and regional planning from Cornell. He has chaired planning programs at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee and Georgia Tech, been president of the Association of Collegiate Schools of Planning, and served as review editor of this journal. He teaches and writes about methods of policy analysis and planning and urban economic development.

Amy Helling, AICP, managing editor, has a Ph.D. in economics from Emory University, and a master' degree in urban and regional planning from the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. She has worked as a tenured faculty member, a consultant, and as a public sector planner, and has published her research in JAPA and other journals.

Thomas (Tom) Sanchez is currently director and associate professor of urban planning at the University of Utah. He holds a Ph.D in city planning from the Georgia Institute of Technology. Prior to the University of Utah, Tom taught at Virginia Tech, Portland State and Iowa State University. His research has been in the areas of transportation, land use, residential location behavior and questions of social equity in planning.
